| This amused me "I'm also tinkering the idea to have the injectors sit INSIDE the air horns like F1 cars", Surely direct cylinder injection is the better approach. But then I asked Mr Google http://www.formula1-dictionary.net/direct_injection.html and it seems that while direct injection is the most economical, spraying into the air horns (or in 300ZX I suppose the lower plenum) makes more power. The reason seems to be a more efficient air/fuel mixing effect and additional cooling effect. Hardly worth the effort of course but an interesting point that was different from what I thought. For those that are interested I am going to be using a cast aluminium intake (based on the SR20 intake) 
Before polishing 
Won’t be mounting injectors inside it. This intake does not require any injector modification.
